It was one of the weirdest things we have ever done, and that is saying something because my roommates are pretty crazy. It all had started when Kate stuck some candles in a slice of bread so that Andi could have something to light on fire--if you don't know Andi you wouldn't understand--and there were some mini marshmallows out because we were drinking hot chocolate (It was snowing today. SNOWING!). Andi lit the candles with her lighter and stuck a marshmallow on the end of a toothpick and roasted it, and the rest is history. We even got chocolate chips and Golden Grahams so that we could have little tiny smores, and cut little slices of cheese and bread so we could have toasted cheese sandwiches. Then Dacia said, "Our house smells like campfire now--" Then Melanie said, "We can vacuum." and we all laughed.
So that was what happened today. Now I need to focus and actually get my homework done because I have procrastinated it to the point of ridiculousness. Of course, according to Aristotle's Poetic's, “what we mean by “the ridiculous” is some error or ugliness that is painless and has no harmful effects.” So, according to that definition, ridiculous procrastination is an ugly thing, but it can't painful...right?No, it can be painful. Oh well. I just need to go do it and get it out of the way.
Well, thats all from the crazy college student for now. Adios!
P.S. Remember kids--Don't try this at home!
I LOVED this. You are so cool!
ReplyDeleteBe careful with the pyrotechnics.
I really do love getting the chance to peek into your life via your blog.
ha ha ha! That is so cool! We used to roast big marshmallows over our stove in our apartment, sometimes causing mini marshmallow fires- but nothin like this! You actually had a real fire going-and that is awesome. :)
ReplyDeleteHey - hope you pyros got the smoke smell 'vacumed' out of your apartment :)
ReplyDeleteWe had a family get-together last evening at Keri & Grants. It was for your dad's birthday and Gerry's too. (and Nathan's and Jared's) Nobody got a fancy invitation like Miss Samantha and other 'misss' sent out for your Sunday supper last week. Hey, I just realized we should have tried out your wacky idea of making miniature somemores over a candle flame. Oh, well -
Sounds like you are having fun down south at SUU !
I like your blog poem - about the fiddling and dancing. I took Autumn and Caleb to a 'hoe down in the red barn at Maple Mountain on Friday night. Caleb and Autumn got into the swing of it and danced the Virginia Reel and the heel toe polka. We had a good time - would like to have had your fiddling !!

ReplyDeletePS Tess just finished reading a beginning reader book titled Samantha. Her teacher gave it to her and when she got home from school she hit me with it and said "look what this book says" and I said "what?, what?" and she said, "this book is about my cousin." :-)
Sam!!! I'm in your blog-- that's exciting.
ReplyDeleteSo... I decided that Blogger should be more searchable. I had to look up Stranger Than Wal-Mart so I could find you. Haha. Anyhow... this was basically one of the best times... like, ever. :D
Fire in your apartment?! You are a rebel without a cause. : )
